This Privacy Policy explains how ClearLedger collects, uses, stores, and protects information when you use the ClearLedger mobile application.
1. Information We Collect
ClearLedger is designed to help businesses manage customer ledger records. Depending on how you use the app, the app may store:
- Customer names and mobile numbers
- Credit and debit ledger entries
- Notes added to ledger entries
- Bill or entry images selected by the user
- Business profile details such as business name, phone, email, logo, UPI ID, and UPI QR code
- Generated statement history and backup information
- App security information such as the configured MPIN
2. How Information Is Used
The information stored in ClearLedger is used to provide app features such as:
- Maintaining customer-wise credit and debit records
- Creating and sharing PDF statements
- Sending payment reminders by SMS or WhatsApp
- Showing analytics and customer summaries
- Backing up and restoring user data
- Protecting access to the app using MPIN security
3. Permissions Used
Contacts
Used only when you choose to import a customer from your phone contacts.
Camera
Used only when you choose to capture a bill image or other entry image.
Photos / Media
Used only when you choose images from your device for bills, business logo, or UPI QR code.
Phone / Share Actions
Used when you choose to call customers, send SMS messages, or share files through other apps.
4. Data Storage
ClearLedger primarily stores your ledger data locally on your device. Some images such as business logo and UPI QR may be stored inside the app database. Entry bill images may be stored in app-managed local device storage.
If you use backup, export, share, SMS, WhatsApp, or PDF features, data may be copied or shared by your chosen action.
5. Data Sharing
ClearLedger does not automatically sell your personal information or customer data. Data is shared only when you explicitly choose actions such as:
- Sending SMS messages
- Sending WhatsApp reminders
- Sharing PDF statements
- Creating and sharing backups
6. Data Security
ClearLedger includes security controls such as MPIN protection for app access and sensitive actions. However, no storage or transmission method can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
7. User Control
You can control your data inside the app by choosing to:
- Add, edit, or delete customers and transactions
- Delete saved statements
- Change or remove business profile details
- Create backups and restore data
- Delete the app and local app data from your device
8. Children’s Privacy
ClearLedger is not directed to children. The app is intended for business and account management use.
9. Changes to This Policy
This Privacy Policy may be updated from time to time. Updated versions should be published with a revised effective date.
